Description
The clock is designed like a miniature aviary in which stuffed birds—four tanagers—sit in an approximation of their natural environment. When the hour strikes, an automatic mechanism is triggered that makes the birds start to move, opening their beaks to imitate the song of indigenous birds. Tanagers belong to the passerine family and are exclusively native to America. Most of the non-migratory birds live in the tropical regions of South America.
